t-straps and typewriters

Sometimes you don't really realize you're tired of something until you see something that breaks the mold. Example: Orla Kiely's AW 2013 presentation where models donned beehives and busied themselves in an office against a backdrop of tapping typewriter keys. Essentially, a Mad Men set. How refreshing to see a presentation where models don't just stand lifelessly against a backdrop but actually interact in a space. What a beautiful way to convey an idea and invite people into the world you imagined in your head. Head over heels for the ladylike 60s feel of the collection that was brought to life by the peter pan collars and silhouettes. I also read that 70s flocked wallpaper was cited as inspiration; this is a collection after my own heart.
