toile two ways
I have a thing for toile and I can't exactly explain why. Sometimes my style sends really mixed messages that even I don't understand. If you were to look in my closet I don't think you would guess that I'm into it but regardless I dig it. Your grandmas couch is toile you say? Well tell her she rocks. I know it seems like a print for the 65+ crowd but when it's used in a youthful silhouette it becomes fresh and unexpected. Hey, thanks for stepping outside the box Band of Outsiders! So when I saw that this skirt was on sale (but still completely out of my price range) I couldn't help but let my imagination run wild.
I love to create two looks based off the same piece with different girls in mind. The look on the left has an Agyness Deyn sort of vibe to me and the one on the right has a Zooey Deschanel sort of thing going on. When I was creating this look board though I thought about the way my best friend and I would style this skirt. I'm Alexa Chung, she's Kate Middleton. I like the White Stripes, she likes Michael Buble. I like stacks of bracelets, she likes pearls. Can you guess which look is mine? It's so interesting to me how the way a person wears an outfit can send a completely different message.
