eat drink and be merry

It hurts my heart that I couldn't attend the Kinfolk dinner party in Austin, Texas. I love Kinfolks natural and creative approach to entertaining that puts the focus on good food and good friends. I think we (women especially) get so caught up in the other details of entertaining that it ends up becoming an assignment instead of a celebration. Preparing a meal and sharing it with others is such a special thing and it should happen more than Thanksgiving and Christmas don't ya think? It doesn't need to be fancy or gourmet it just needs to happen. I'm making it a personal goal to gather with friends more and break bread (and I'm not talking about Chili's). What's better than sitting on the grass, lighting a few candles, and really savoring the company of your loved ones?
