When you're in love you do stupid things. I know this because in the time that I've been with my boyfriend I've found myself doing some of the craziest stuff. First, it was registering for a chess.com account and then it was occasionally reading the Economist. Then one time in a sort of out of body moment I suggested we sit on the same side of the booth at a restaurant. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? That only happened once, don't be too concerned.
And so after calling my local Madewell several times and checking ceaselessly online to see if this sweatshirt is restocked, it's safe to say I'm sitting on the same side of the booth as Madewell and I'm acting crazy because of it. Can you blame me though? When I saw the Fall 2013 lookbook I could hardly believe it was the same Madewell. New creative director Kin Ying Lee seems to be propelling the brand forward while also being conscious of the brand's roots and people are taking notice. All at once the collection seems to transcend trends while also being so relevant and in some ways, edgy. Example: The bien fait sweatshirt paired with slouchy trousers and checkerboard vans.
It should also be noted that a possible reason for my obsession with the bien fait sweatshirt may be that I'm taking French. I believe this sweatshirt possesses the magical powers to get me an A+ on my first test, which is quickly approaching. With not even half a semester of French under my belt I also feel obligated to own anything and everything with French writing on it. A paper clip that says paper clip on it in French? ADORABLE, I MUST HAVE IT. Going to Anthropologie has turned into a real problem.
So what do you think? Are you sitting on the same side of the booth as the Fall 2013 lookbook?
