There was a time, believe it or not, when I just didn't care about clothes or anything feminine for that matter. I actually spent the first 10 years of my life trying to emulate my older brother who I thought was SO cool at the time (I was clearly delusional). Will doesn't smile in pictures? Well then, I don't smile in pictures. And I have a very cute (sarcasm) first grade picture of me looking like a total smug face little punk to prove it.
Then one day something happened (puberty?) and I was a lover of all things girly. Ever since I crossed over to the dark side or pink side if you will, I've had a thing for tulle. It brings such drama and lightness all at once. It's whimsical yet sophisticated when done right.
That's the thing, I do personally believe there is a right and wrong way to approach tulle. With something that is so overtly feminine it must be balanced out with more masculine touches. Think, jean jacket, graphic tee, and a deep plum moody lipstick.
